Revving up for the New Year by reflecting Car Care Plan’s 2023 highlights
The festive holidays are fast approaching and the end of 2023 with it. The year has been an eventful one for Car Care Plan. Here are some of the highlights.
Our in-house insurer, Motors Insurance Company Limited (MICL), turned 30. The company, which underwrites the vast majority of Car Care Plan’s business, was founded in 1993. Over the past three decades, MICL has gone from strength-to-strength, working with many of the world’s most recognised automotive brands. This year, they passed £1.5 billion in written cumulative risk premium. Learn more here.
The Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA’s) Consumer Duty came into force at the end of July, which had a fundamental impact on firms providing regulated financial products or services to consumers. At Car Care Plan, we began strategic planning for implementation more than a year in advance, to ensure products, services and clients were all prepared for the changes. We also published video Q&As with key team members, an eBook overview of the Duty, and other content ahead of its implementation. You can access all that content here.
In August, we announced the addition of Car Care Plan Protex to our portfolio of products and services, becoming a leading provider of vehicle manufacturer branded retail motor insurance and accident aftercare solutions. Under Protex, our clients now have access to vehicle manufacturer branded insurance products matched with technical repair expertise and accident management processes. Read our “Introduction to Car Care Plan Protex” on AM Online for more.
Car Care Plan was named AM Dealer Recommended for Warranty 2024 – the 14th year in a row we have received the award. AM’s annual Dealer Recommended programme polls readers on the companies they believe offer the best service, and Car Care Plan rose to the top among warranty providers. You can learn more about the 2024 Dealer Recommended programme on AM Online.
AM’s annual awards ceremony, which takes place during the Spring, also saw Car Care Plan shortlisted for the Supplier of the Year award. We were delighted to be finalists at the prestigious event and also to have sponsored the Used Car of the Year award, as per previous years, which was this year won by the Kia Sportage. More on the awards ceremony here.
This year’s Car Care Plan sales conference was hosted by Sales Director Simon Cook, who led the celebrations and recognition of everyone’s hard work and commitment throughout 2023. The event also saw a number of team members picking up awards for their hard work, more on which can be found on our LinkedIn page.
And finally, we’d like to highlight the amazing efforts of our team in supporting various charities throughout the year. That includes donating almost 900kg of food to a variety of charities and foodbanks, including Bradford Foodbank. We also supported Norton Way Motors in raising over £12,000 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the Consumer Claims Team raised over £700 for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, we all wore green for the day in support of Mental Health Awareness Week, and our team member Simon Mann organised a charity ride with his motorbike group “Route 62” that raised over £3,000 for Little Hiccups, a Leeds-based support group for parents of children with additional needs and disabilities… to name just a few of our team’s amazing charitable efforts!
There is a lot more to look forward to in 2024, more of which will be revealed over the coming weeks and months. Keep up to date with the latest from Car Care Plan by visiting our blog and following our LinkedIn page.
From everyone at Car Care Plan, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
