AM Awards returns – who were the winners?

The annual AM Awards returned to the ICC in Birmingham in 2021 – a celebration of exceptional businesses, teams, individuals, and products in the UK’s automotive industry.

The “biggest and most influential players”, including senior executives from top retail groups and franchised dealers, were among those in attendance to hear the winners revealed and learn about their outstanding achievements.

AM Editor Tim Rose said: “Motor retailers are so keen to get back to business networking after the lockdowns, and what better than at an evening which celebrates the successful businesses, great leadership, resilience and a sense of community spirit within our industry.”

Used Car of the Year Award 2021

Car Care Plan once again sponsored The Used Car of the Year Award, demonstrating ongoing support of the fantastic achievements and success stories within the industry.

The shortlist for the category came down to the Ford Fiesta, Ford Kuga, Kia Sportage, Porsche Macan, Toyota Yaris, and VW Golf, each vying for the coveted prize.

After winning four years in a row, the Kia Sportage was unable to retain the crown last year, as the VW Golf was named Used Car of the Year 2020. This year saw a return of the accolade to the Sportage, after the judging panel spent several days studying the entries, debating and voting on all award categories.

Among the other awards handed out on the night were Manufacturer of the Year, Best Dealership, Best Used Car Dealership, Best Marketing Strategy, Best Aftersales Team, Community Hero Award, and the AM Hall of Fame, which recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the automotive industry during their career.
