AM Awards 2024 shines spotlight on automotive industry success
The automotive industry came together to celebrate the most exceptional businesses, teams, individuals, and products in 2024 at the annual AM Awards this month.
Representatives from across the industry attended the glittering awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel, in London, when the winners of more than two dozen accolades were revealed.
Used Car of the Year 2024
Car Care Plan was a Platinum Sponsor for the event and once again sponsored the Used Car of the Year Award, as an ongoing show of support for the fantastic achievements and success stories within the automotive industry.
The award sees AM’s dealer audience voting for their choice of winner based on several categories, including the quality of the cars, how well they have retained their residual value, the strength of manufacturers’ used car programmes, the level of engagement from retailers, and use of remarketing.
The finalists for 2024 included last year’s winner, the Kia Sportage, alongside the Ford Puma, Hyundai Tucson, Range Rover Evoque, Volkswagen Golf, and Volvo XC60.
The Kia Sportage retained the title this year, being named Used Car of the Year 2024. The Sportage has won the Used Car of the Year Award seven out of the last nine years.
Awards categories at AM Awards 2024
Among the other awards categories were the Community Hero Award, New Car of the Year, Workshop of the Year (independent and franchised), EV Dealership of the Year, Best New Product or Service, Hybrid Vehicle of the Year, EV of the Year, Franchised Dealership of the Year, Independent Dealer of the Year, Manufacturer of the Year, and Retailer of the Year.
The latest inductee into the AM Hall of Fame was also announced – recognition for the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the automotive industry during their career.
