Car Care Plan Products - Business Development Manager

Due to business growth our client is expanding their presence across the UK adding to their current portfolio of sites.  As a result Car Care Plan Products are now seeking  2 new Business Development Managers to support this client. One BDM will cover the North, and the other BDM will cover the South.  Both of these roles will report into the National Business Development Manager.

Principle Responsibilities

  • To develop and maintain strong business relationships with key management personnel to maximise product development opportunities for CCPP and their clients.
  • Achieve pre-agreed sales and/or activity targets (incl. dealer visit reports) for Car Care Plan Products in line with internal / external expectations.
  • When required attend sales meetings held by the Client or the NBDM.
  • Ensuring all administration tasks are completed fully within the designated time frame.
  • Ensure efficient management controls are agreed, and followed within the client group, including an understanding of the sales process (CCPP and Client), and claims fund performance.
  • Network through the client group Sales Development Managers (SDM’s), in order to encourage and further develop product performance within the territory.
  • Manage own time effectively within the scope of the role, in order to ensure time efficiency against the agreed activity.
  • To ensure that you work with and advise client management, demonstrate understanding of multiple compliant sales processes and the ability to train and coach dealer management and sales execs on where effectively to present CCP products in a fully regulated manner.
  • Complete Targeted Conduct Reviews as requested by the CCP compliance team.

Personal and Professional Development

  • Attend internal and external training courses, as required, in order to further develop appropriate business, negotiation and business skills.
  • Maintain and update a detailed knowledge of all CCP products.
  • Provide support, when asked for, in other product development activities as and when required by the business
  • Identify personal development needs together with your line manager in order to be more effective in the role.

Account Management

  • To develop a strong business relationship with key dealership management as well as client Head Office support teams maximising the potential development opportunities for both the client and CCPP.
  • Ensure that all dealers are using CCP products / client approved point of sale material in an appropriate and regulated (where applicable) manner.
  • Ensure that all administration tasks are completed fully within designated time frame. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
    • Outlook Calendar
    • Sales Force Reporting – Dealer Visit Report completion
    • CCP System completion – Appraisals, Expenses, holiday requests, monthly mileage return
  • Completion of FCA competency (On line) training

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent presentation skills with an ability to present CCPP training material to small / medium sized groups in the dealership
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and increase product performance within the client group
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify and successfully gain support to CCP product lines
  • High level of computer literacy/IT skills including the ability to effectively use MS Office products (specifically, Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Positive, flexible, resilient and capable of working using own initiative
  • Excellent people skills and a team player with a high level of customer focus and the ability to motivate, coach and develop individuals to support sales initiatives and be able to improve the performance of the sales team
  • Strong organisational and planning skills and to be able to establish priorities so that results are delivered, and deadlines are met

 Qualifications & Experience

  • Good general education – GCSE/equivalent or relevant career experience
  • Driving licence (ideally clean) as this role requires extensive travel
  • Experience of working in a Franchised Dealer environment is desirable
  • Demonstrate a proactive, professional and customer focused approach
  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate, identify and successfully encourage support for Car Care Plan Products product lines.
  • Good understanding of the UK Regulatory Environment, in particular surrounding the ICOBS rules and the Insurance Distribution Directive.
