How does a warranty claim work?

If your vehicle suffers from a mechanical or electrical fault covered by your warranty, making a claim is a simple process:

Visit a VAT registered repairer

When a mechanical or electrical fault occurs, take your vehicle to a VAT registered repairer as soon as possible, reducing the chances of any further damage. They will diagnose the fault and recommend a repair. Ensure you inform the repairer your vehicle is under warranty.

The repairer will contact your warranty provider

Following the initial diagnostic check, your chosen repairer will contact your warranty provider to ensure the repair is covered. If the fault is not covered by your vehicle warranty, you will be informed of how best to proceed. The length of time this will take depends on the severity of the fault, but your repairer should be able to provide an estimate after they diagnose the issue.

Leave your vehicle with the repairer

When your chosen repairer has received confirmation the parts and labour required to repair your vehicle has been approved by your warranty provider, you will be informed of the necessary repairs and the work will be completed.

Collect your vehicle

When the repairs have been completed your repairer will let you know, and you’ll be free to pick up your vehicle at your convenience. Payment for the repairs will often be arranged directly by your warranty provider but check with your repairer. Occasionally, you may be required to pay the bill and claim the cost back from your warranty provider.
