Ensure your dealership is offering the right warranty product

In the current economic climate, customers seem pretty risk-averse and warranties continue to play an important role for franchised dealers and independents alike. So there’s plenty of scope for the sale of extended warranty cover to contribute to their overall buying experience – and your dealership’s bottom line.

Getting the right product

The vehicle warranty Code of Practice, introduced several years ago by Motor Codes, was developed in conjunction with some of the industry’s leading organisations and sets high standards for warranty products and providers. Its ultimate aim is to protect the needs of motorists and provide reassurance the product they’ve bought meets the Code’s exacting standards and all the information is clear, concise and straightforward.

For dealerships, there’s further reassurance that if they’re providing warranties administered by Code subscribers, they have clear and straightforward policy documentation to provide to customers. If customers fully understand the product – it’s features as well as limitations – they’re more likely to purchase or even upgrade. This helps to build an ongoing relationship, as warranties have proven time and time again to be hugely important to retention.

With expectations high, it’s more important than ever to select a partner who backs up their claims with a no-quibble service that reflects positively on your dealership.
