What does the Car Care Plan CEO have to say on Brexit?

Car Care Plan’s Chief Executive, Paul Newton has encouraged all partner manufacturers and retailers to continue business as usual, as the terms of Britain’s exit from the EU (Brexit) are determined. The statement follows a new eBook from Car Care Plan exploring the automotive industry’s reaction to Brexit and its possible implications.

The new Prime Minister, Theresa May, has stated her Government will adhere to the wishes of the majority of British voters in guiding the country out of the EU. However, there is still uncertainty around the detail of that exit and Britain’s future relationship with the rest of Europe. While those details are decided, Paul reminds the industry that EU legislation is still “firmly in place”.

Paul Newton, Car Care Plan Chief Executive, said:

“Following what was one of the biggest democratic exercises of recent years, the public has chosen a future separate from, but working alongside, the European Union.

We hope the Government and the European Union will move quickly to address the huge number of issues surrounding our exit and eradicate the economic uncertainty the British market is currently experiencing.

In the meantime, we will have to adopt a “wait and see” attitude until we know exactly what the trade deal with the EU will look like and then react to it accordingly.

Until then we would encourage all of our partners, both Manufacturer and Retailer based, to continue business as usual since any EU legislation currently enacted will remain firmly in place until our ‘Brexit’ agreement comes to fruition.”
